Road Trip
We recently went on our second big road trip as a little family, the first since Ethan (2 1/2 years old) could protest sitting in the car for hours, using actual words. In all we spent six days on the road for seven or more hours each day and had a surprisingly good time.
With summer vacations rapidly approaching, I thought it would be fun to dedicate the next few blog entries to traveling with kids. Each entry will focus on a specific topic - travel tunes, snacks, activities, destinations - and you can share your favorite tips by leaving a comment under the blog entry.

i loved road trips with you when we were growing up, jeremy. my favorite things were the "magic tablets" (black sticky cardboard with thin plastic film over it, a plastic "pen," and you'd draw then lift the film to draw a new picture) and the keith green tapes. glad you're carrying on the oregon-california road trip tradition with ethan and judy!
Do they still make those magic tablets? Ethan would love one of those.
It is fun carrying on the road trip tradition with Judy and Ethan. I'd gotten so used to flying that I feared the long drive, but we had a great time and are really looking forward to our summer trip. Thanks for providing a fun destination for my family!
